Men leaving jail and rehab deserve more than a second chance. They need a safe place to start again.

Recovery Housing in Chattanooga That Breaks the Cycle

The Problem

Aerial view of a winding river flowing through wooded hills and a city with industrial buildings in the distance, with a small castle and a church at the forefront.

Right now in Hamilton County, men are walking out of jail and treatment centers with nowhere to go but back to the same environments that led them there.

That’s where relapse happens.
That’s where the cycle continues.

REACH Chattanooga exists to change that.

We’re building structured, NARR Level II recovery housing for men ready to rebuild their lives — with accountability, stability, and a real path forward.

Expected opening: Early 2027
Right now, we’re raising the funds to make it happen.

The “Re-entry Cliff” is real — and it’s costing lives

Men leaving incarceration or rehab face one immediate question:

“Where do I go now?”

Without safe, structured housing, most return to high-risk environments.

  • Relapse rates are nearly 2x higher without supportive housing

  • Tennessee recidivism sits at 39.8% statewide

  • Local jail recidivism reaches 44.3%

This isn’t a lack of willpower. It’s a lack of infrastructure.

THE SOLUTION

A structured home built for real recovery

REACH Chattanooga is building more than a house.

We’re creating a SAFE ACT–compliant, NARR Level II recovery residence designed to support long-term sobriety and independence.

This is not a pop-up sober house.

This is a supervised, structured environment where men are held accountable and given the tools to rebuild their lives.

What makes REACH different

  • NARR Level II standards with professional oversight

  • 12-step based (not religious)

  • Zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy

  • Structured daily expectations and accountability

  • Focus on employment, independence, and long-term success

Real structure.
Real accountability.
Real change.

Residents at REACH will live in an environment designed for growth, stability, and responsibility.

Program expectations include:

  • Employment required within 14 days

  • Minimum of 5 recovery meetings per week

  • 10PM curfew

  • Random drug and alcohol testing

  • Daily responsibilities and shared accountability

  • Active participation in 12-step recovery

Housing is sliding scale, and length of stay is determined case by case — because real recovery isn’t one-size-fits-all.

Built for men ready to change their story

REACH Chattanooga serves:

  • Men 18+

  • Transitioning from incarceration or treatment

  • With a minimum of 30 days sobriety

  • Referred by a treatment facility, sponsor, or program

We are committed to creating a safe and stable environment for those serious about recovery.

THE IMPACT

Recovery housing changes everything

When men have access to stable recovery housing:

  • Program completion rates jump from 43% to nearly 89%

  • Over 64% report improved family relationships within 6 months

  • Long-term sobriety becomes sustainable, not temporary

This isn’t theory. It’s proven data.

A pipeline from recovery to independence

REACH Chattanooga is building toward something bigger than one house.

We’re creating a network of recovery homes across Hamilton County, connected to real workforce opportunities. Because recovery doesn’t end with sobriety.

It continues with employment, stability, purpose and community. Our goal is simple: Men leave REACH as self-sufficient, employed, and grounded members of society.

Without REACH, the cycle continues

Without structured recovery housing, men are left with two options:

  • Return to environments that trigger relapse

  • Enter unsafe, unregulated sober living situations

And too often, the outcome is the same…

Relapse. Re-incarceration. Loss of freedom.

We are building the alternative.

Help us build the first home

REACH Chattanooga is currently in the launch phase, actively raising funds and building partnerships to open our first residence in 2027.

We cannot do this without the community.

We are seeking:

  • Financial donations

  • Housing/property opportunities

  • Startup funding for operations and insurance

  • Vehicle donations (eligible for up to 150% MSRP tax write-off)

  • Employer and workforce partners

Every contribution moves this from an idea to a place where lives are changed daily.
